How can you lose belly fat safely and permanently, effectively and develop a flat stomach?

Carrying weight around the stomach, aka those love handles,  is uncomfortable and unhealthy. Yes, unhealthy. A larger waistline is actually related to a higher cardiovascular risk. There are many diets to reduce belly fat, but it is difficult to determine what works and what doesn't.

Unfortunately, many of them are scammers. The truth is that it is impossible to lose weight belly overnight. In fact, losing weight from anywhere on your body takes discipline, time, patience and commitment.

BUT, if you're ready to make some changes to lose weight and get ripped abs, here are five effective ways to have the flat belly you've been wishing for: 

1. Have a healthy diet
More than likely, you are overweight because you eat more calories than you need. The only way to really lose weight and achieve a flat stomach is by reducing your calorie intake. Simply put, you can do it by eating healthy foods that are full of fiber, lean proteins and complex carbohydrates and you should also try staying away from fats, bad carbs, sugar and foods with lots of sodium.

2. Incorporate exercise and get of your butt
If you want a flat stomach, you must do exercises, and for that you need hit the gym or get some dumbells. Resistance training is actually very effective for burning fat and calories. Make it at least five times a week for 30-60 minutes.

3. Start training in bodybuilding
As I said, resistance training helps greatly. The combination of weight training and cardio exercises will strengthen your muscles and increase your metabolism.

4. Avoid stress in your life
Stress is a major reason why many people gain weight around the belly, its true! So, if you really want to achieve a flat stomach, you must reduce the stress in your life. Choose an activity that minimizes stress, like something you enjoy, and do it once or twice a week. Some general suggestions: walking, yoga, pilates, reading, meditation or just relaxing on the couch (just do not do it with a bag of chips okay? ;-)

5. Be patient 
You can not lose fat and get a flat stomach the next day. Do you think Britney Spears or Katy Perry look like that sitting on their butts? Nope, they work out daily until their muscles go sore. Believe me. It's all about being consistent and patient. You will not lose fat and get a flat stomach tomorrow. But if you stick to this program - having a healthy diet, working at least five times a week and eliminating stress in your life - you will see success in a just a week.

In the meantime, keep in mind these other tips:
- Make sure you drink plenty of water.
- Always start your day with a healthy breakfast.
- DO NOT snack before bedtime. If you absolutely need treatment of night, try a cup of hot tea or a handful of nuts or better yet, fruit, like grapes or an orange.
- Find a buddy drive because it will be harder for you to abandon the exercise.
- Walk! Take the stairs if you're not in too much hurry.
